LANCASTER, Calif. – Paramedics and firefighters from the Los Angeles County Fire Department, along with sheriff’s deputies, responded to a call for a person down in the Genoa Avenue and West Newgrove intersection in Lancaster.
Upon arrival, paramedics and firefighters located a postal worker who had been struck by a vehicle while crossing the street within the crosswalk.
Bystanders from the neighborhood rendered aid while awaiting the arrival of fire department personnel.
Paramedics transported the postal worker to a local area hospital with unknown injuries. Deputies detained the driver of a green pickup truck as they investigated the incident. It is unknown if alcohol or speeding was a factor in the collision.
