Arkansas Congressman implementing plan to fix postal service issues

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – A solution for residents facing delays in delivering their mail could be on the horizon. Congressman Rick Crawford has a plan to fix the “Unacceptable Postal Service”.

Crawford said this issue has been growing over the past few years, and since it affects people’s livelihoods, he’s trying to fix it.

“It matters on their healthcare issues. It matters on their financial issues. It matters on things like utilities. So many different things that impact people when their mail doesn’t get delivered,” he said.

Crawford said the distribution center in Memphis has made temporary fixes in the past but then eventually fell back into poor service.

“Meanwhile, the cost of stamps goes up. So, if we’re gonna pay more for stamps I think it stands to reason that we should expect a higher degree of customer service,” he said.

Now, the Congressman is asking for residents’ help to fix the issue.
