USPS worker dumps several packages on Semmes roadside, witnesses say

Semmes Police Chief Todd Freind said witnesses saw a United States Postal Service worker stack the boxes on the side of Roberts Lane and Jeremy Drive around 6 p.m. on Dec. 8.

“They saw the postal worker actually stacking the boxes up on the side of the road out of the truck,” Freind said. “They were concerned because they weren’t expecting anything, and they knew that the packages that were being dropped in front of their house did not belong to them.”

Freind estimated the Semmes Police Department recovered eight boxes, and all of them were Amazon boxes.

If investigators find what they’re looking for, the incident will become a federal crime. For that, the investigation is now in the hands of the USPS. Freind said an investigator with USPS has traveled to Mobile County to look into the case.
