The Postal Service is moving Field Maintenance Operations to a new place in the organization.
Over the past two years, the Postal Service has made significant changes to its organizational structure to better align functions in support of its core business operations through the Delivering for America plan.
Field Maintenance Operations, which had been part of the chief processing and distribution officer’s organization, now reports to the vice president of retail and Post Office operations, who reports to the chief retail and delivery officer.
“This organizational change will provide increased efficiency of the work performed daily, improve line-of-sight and accountability, and streamline decision-making and maintenance processes. It will enhance both the employee and the Postal Service customer experience in our Post Offices, stations and branches,” said Elvin Mercado, retail and Post Office operations vice president.
