On December 31, 2025, at 4:18 PM, the Caldwell Fire and Rescue Department was dispatched to the 1400 block of FM 3058 for a vehicle fire. Caldwell C-1, E-1, E-2, and B-2 arrived on the scene to find a USPS mail van fully engulfed in flames.
DOUGLAS — A U.S. Postal Service mail carrier escaped injury Saturday afternoon after the vehicle he was driving caught fire while he was out delivering mail.
Upon arrival, Engines 3, 4, and 5 discovered a fully involved postal truck. Crews went to work extinguishing the fire and had it under control in minutes.
Firefighters responded to a fire involving a mail truck in the driveway near Amberwood Lane. The fire was contained with water applied and no nearby buildings were at risk.
