A new video spotlights the Jimmy Carter stamp

The Postal Service has released a video about its new stamp honoring the nation’s 39th president, Jimmy Carter, who died Dec. 29 at the age of 100.

The four-minute video features comments from Thomas Marshall, the USPS general counsel who spoke at this week’s dedication ceremony; Amy Carter, the president’s daughter; historian Kai Bird; and Lauren Gay, the president’s former special assistant.

“Jimmy Carter’s story is one of humble beginnings leading to a lifetime of extraordinary service,” Marshall says in the video.

Watch a video about the life of Elie Wiesel

The Postal Service has released a video about its Elie Wiesel stamp, the 18th release in the Distinguished Americans series.

The Holocaust survivor, author and Nobel Peace Prize recipient was a voice for victims and survivors of that event, and a human rights advocate.

The 3-minute video features Ronald Stroman, a member of the USPS Board of Governors, who narrates the video.

“He understood that silence in the face of injustice helps the oppressor — never the oppressed,” Stroman says in the video.
