HIBBING, Minn. — Two people are in custody after a K9 helped uncover several pounds of methamphetamine inside a package Monday at a U.S. Post Office in northern Minnesota.
According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, K9 Murphy with the Lake Superior Violent Offenders Task Force (LSVOTF) detected narcotics while sniffing a suspicious package at a post office in Hibbing. Officials obtained a search warrant and found about five pounds of methamphetamine inside the package.
Authorities say two people were taken into custody in connection to the drugs found. The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office and members of the LSVOTF were assisting the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the U.S. Postal Inspectors Office with the investigation.
