Donald Trump’s Memo Drops Subtle Hint; Military, USPS, NOAA Off DOGE’s Radar

President Donald Trump’s administration has ordered federal agencies to work with Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to prepare for mass layoffs, a memo released on Wednesday declared. However, the letter also mentions exemptions, hinting that only a few departments are off DOGE’s radar for now.

It further noted that Trump has ordered a ‘large-scale reductions in force’.
However, law enforcement, national security, public safety, military positions and US Postal Service positions are exempt. Other exemptions include border security, immigration enforcement and public safety roles. The military, uniformed personnel, publich health officials and NOAA officers are also exempted.
President Trump spoke about the layoffs in his first cabinet meeting on Wednesday. He also backed Elon Musk‘s infamous email to agencies.
