The Postal Service will hold its first Ethics Awareness Week from Aug. 16-22, aiming to educate employees about the importance of conducting themselves with integrity.

In a new video message to kick off the week, Postmaster General Louis DeJoy notes that USPS is consistently ranked as one of the nation’s most trusted public institutions.

“This public recognition is a testament to your commitment to our public service mission and always making ethical behavior a priority,” DeJoy says.

During Ethics Awareness Week, the Postal Service will highlight a new ethics app for smartphones that can be downloaded through the USPS app store; ethics websites for postal workers and the public; a video that emphasizes the sanctity of the mail and appropriate use of postal property; live ethics training sessions; and virtual comprehensive ethics training available through HERO.

(Nonexempt employees are not authorized to use these resources outside of approved working hours.)

“Through Ethics Awareness Week, we are emphasizing the importance of ethics and highlighting new tools designed to help our employees understand the rules and perform their work with integrity,” said Natalie A. Bonanno, the Postal Service’s associate general counsel and chief ethics and compliance officer.

The Ethics Blue page has more information. Employees who have ethics questions should send an email to the USPS Ethics Office at ethics.help@usps.gov before taking any action.
