The Postal Service is replacing out-of-warranty ACE workstations, including laptops, desktops, monitors and printers.

Under the modernization effort, the desktop units will be replaced with laptops and configured based on the user’s needs and assignments.

Users will be required to package old machines and send them back to the Material Distribution Center in Topeka, KS, within a week after new workstations are received and activated.

Packaging materials and directions for returning old equipment will be included with the new machines.

Here’s what employees and contractors should know:

• The MDC will ship monitors and printers in bulk to each facility. Managers should use an online survey to designate a point-of-contact to support installation and returns.

• Users with an out-of-warranty workstation will receive either a phone call or an email from the Endpoint Refresh Program Management Office to start the ordering process.

• The email will have a link to an online computer replacement verification survey. Users should respond as quickly as possible to validate their ACE IDs, workstation serial number, duty station and contact information.

• After returning the completed the survey, users will receive a second email that lists steps for migrating folders, files and photos to Microsoft OneDrive, and Outlook archives (.pst files) to Exchange Online, before the new workstation arrives.

Users will be provided instructions for setting up the new workstation when it arrives.
