BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The U.S. Postal Service announced they are temporarily suspending operations at the Bluff Park Finance Branch at Shades Mountain Plaza in Birmingham due to unspecified safety concerns.
“Following repairs and a safety inspection, customers and employees will be advised of a re-occupancy date,” USPS Strategic Communications Specialist Debra Jean Fetterly said in a statement Thursday.
Regular mail and package delivery service will not be interrupted due to the safety issue, but customers who need to pick up their P.O. Box mail or make business transactions will need to visit the Hoover Post Office at 1809 Riverchase Drive.
The exact reason for the safety concern is unknown at this time.
