USPS: ‘Real mess’ at the Twisp Post Office is being cleaned up

Locals took to social media last week to report what a Twisp River resident called “a real mess” at the Twisp Post Office — everything from mail carriers allegedly not getting paid and quitting, to deliveries not being made up the Twisp River and elsewhere in the Methow Valley.

A U.S. Postal Service representative dispelled some of these rumors in emails to the Methow Valley News. She also announced a new postmaster was starting in Twisp on Tuesday (July 2), which might help right the ship at the beleaguered post office.

Cody Bidlen, who served briefly as acting postmaster in Twisp earlier this year, was to take on the role full time on Tuesday, said Kim Frum, strategic communications specialist for Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana in the U.S. Postal Service’s Seattle corporate office.
