Protect Yourself Against Heat Illness When Delivering for America
Rising temperatures can put employees at risk for heat illnesses. When the body is unable to cool itself by sweating, heat illnesses such as heat stress, heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke may occur. Symptoms range from mild and easily correctable to severe and potentially life-threatening.
DMM Notice: Grace-Period Extension to Pay PO Box Renewal Fees Rescinded
Effective March 23, 2023, the Postal Service™ is discontinuing the extended grace period for customers to pay PO Box™ renewal fees. The 10-day grace period, under section 508.4.7.5, “Late Fee Payment,” of Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®), resumes.
DMM Revision: Mailing Currency
The Postal Service is revising section 503.2.1 to add a standard requiring commercial cash transactions over $500.00 be sent using Registered Mail® service. In addition, the Postal Service is adding new section 601.1.3, “Mailing Currency,” to the DMM standards for mailing currency, including the requirement to send commercial cash transactions over $500.00 as Registered Mail.
Recycling Resumes for Inkjet and Toner Cartridges
Supply Management and the Office of Environmental Affairs and Corporate Sustainability have identified Clover Technologies in Calexico, CA, as the corporate-wdie recycler for used inkjet and toner cartridges. Employees are expected to use the internal Click-N-Ship® application for shipping used inkjet and toner cartridges.
