During the week of February 9, 2026, we performed a self-initiated audit at the Norfolk Local Processing Center (LPC), three delivery units serviced by the plant, and a fourth delivery unit in the Virginia District. The delivery units included the Norfolk Sorting and Delivery Center (S&DC) and Lynchburg, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach Main Post Offices (MPO).
We issued individual reports for the four delivery units and the LPC. We will also issue another report summarizing the results of our audits at all four delivery units with specific recommendations for management to address.
The audit team identified deficiencies in seven areas we reviewed affecting mail delivery and property conditions at the delivery units.
We also identified deficiencies in three areas we reviewed that affected the efficiency of operations or safety and security at the Norfolk LPC.
Another audit, another management failure. This one runs the gamut, from an LPC to a local post office. Too bad they didn’t throw in the RPDC; everyone knows what a disaster it is. There just isn’t any question that management has severely damaged the USPS. The extensive DEI and criminal hires have undermined public confidence and driven huge volumes out of the mail stream. What once was will never be back.
Speaking on mismanagement…at my office (45 rural routes) we, at times, have as many as 4 supervisors on the floor at one time. Mostly they stand around and talk and giggle whilst cursing enough to make a sailor blush. Meanwhile almost every time I look in the UBBM recycling pallet box, I find first class mail dumped as well as DPS and presort flats and box holders that carriers are throwing out because they are too lazy to deliver them. I’ve showed management many times and they never do anything about it. It’s very sad that the Post Office can’t get out of its own way in putting the final nails in its own coffin.
You are correct and this is rampant; deliverable mail is constantly put into UBBM by this new breed of carriers, especially circs. Management doesn’t care because it means less work hours.
