U.S. mail carrier accused of trafficking fentanyl through the mail

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – USPS mail carrier Marcus Gaines Jr. and his friend Ronald Moss Jr. are facing drug charges in federal court for allegedly trafficking drugs through the mail.

The men were arrested last week

“It’s very scary. It’s unfortunate that drugs like that can be shipped across the country,” said Lt. Steve Roger.

Lt. Steve Rogers works for the Drug Abuse Response Team also known as DART. His unit is not a part of this case, but he wasn’t shocked to learn the amount of drugs taken off the streets.

According to court documents, an agent with the Office of Inspector General identified a package shipped through the mail from California to Toledo.
