The USPS sanctions another footwear collaboration, this time with A Bathing Ape.
After the postal service linked up with Vans at the end of 2021 and shut down the unofficial Nike tribute on the AF1 Experimental, it seems they’re venturing into footwear once more. What you’re looking at is not a part of the new USPS uniform, but actually a collaboration between the oldest American institution and Japan’s most famous streetwear brand, BAPE on a set of BAPE STA colorways.
Coming in three colorways, the sneakers are all covered in patriotic shades of red, white, and blue leather with USPS branding sprinkled throughout. You can find various forms you’d fill out when dealing with the service, from a change of address form to the design of the Priority Mail envelopes, all accented by mismatched star logos on the midfoot and gilded APE heads on the lace dubrae. While we don’t have an ultra-detailed look at the entire sneaker, it’s safe to assume co-branding details land on the heel and/or insoles. Rounding out the look is the classic BAPE STA midsole coming in white paired with a blue rubber outsole.
The USPS x A Bathing Ape BAPE STA is set to release in 2022 through BAPE and select retailers online and in-store. As of now, sizing and pricing information is TBA.
