The Surprise Squad visits mail carrier recovering from heart attack

A mail carrier known for his kindness has had an especially challenging year after having a heart attack over the summer.

Andrew Fulton, a father of two, has been without an income since then.

So, the Liberty Bank Surprise Squad spread some kindness at his hospital bed where he’s waiting for heart transplant.

“I was trying to sleep. I was having some chest pains, it gradually got worse and worse and I was like uh oh, something’s wrong. I called 911 from that point on,” he said.

“He’s been through the ringer the past couple of months. He’s had a heart attack, he’s had a couple of cardiac arrests. That have left him on this machine called the Implella while he waits for a heart transplants,” said Emily Ashman, his nurse.

He is one of the highest people on the list waiting to get a new heart, but after he gets the transplant, he will be out of work for six to 12 months.

“Very, very difficult. It’s been tough,” he continued. “Credit card bills, rent, utilities. I like to spoil my kids a little bit and I can’t really do that.”

We spread some kindness with a donation to Andrew’s GoFundMe page. If you would like to donate, click HERE.
