Akron police searching for suspect who allegedly robbed postal carrier at gunpoint

AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Police Department is asking for the public’s help in tracking down the man accused of robbing a postal carrier at gunpoint on Monday afternoon.

According to a release, a male suspect robbed the postal carrier in the 900 block of Bisson Avenue at approximately 4 p.m.

“During the robbery, the suspect kept his right hand in his coat pocket and told the victim he had a gun before demanding his property. The suspect took property from the 32-year-old postal carrier and fled westbound on Diagonal Road,” Akron police stated.

Police describe the suspect as approximately 16-20 years old, standing between 5’4″ and 5’6″ tall and weighing between 120-150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black coat, dark-colored pants, a ski mask and what appeared to be red gloves. The suspect’s face was apparently covered during the robbery.
