A 30-year-old Syracuse man has been sentenced to 366 days in prison for assaulting a United States Postal Service letter carrier.

As part of Javon Mayo’s previous guilty plea, he admitted that on December 24, 2020, he hit a letter carrier in the right eye while they were delivering mail at an apartment complex in Syracuse.

Mayo broke part of the bone around the letter carrier’s eye.

Mayo will also face three years of parole following his release from prison.
