As the countdown to election day narrows down, election-related mail keeps flowing in.
“It is unprecedented the amount of mail that we’re getting for the campaign mailing and the ballots, so it is definitely a huge, huge spike in volume,” said Andrew Kubat of the Lehigh Valley Area Local 268 American Postal Workers Union.
He said the volume of election-related mail they are seeing is more than during the 2020 and 2016 elections.
“I think a lot of people are motivated. A lot of people are taking advantage of the mail-in ballots that the law that Pennsylvania passed to allow mail-in balloting, so I think people are really taking advantage of the convenience of, the security of it,” said Kubat.
USPS said it anticipates an uptick of ballots in the mail in the coming days.
