Postal employee robbed of piles of mail in front of Redlands post office

A U.S. Postal Service employee was robbed of mail in front of a Relands post office by two men, one of whom simulated having a gun, police said.
The crime happened Tuesday evening, Jan. 28, at the post office at 1900 W. Redlands Blvd., the Redlands Police Department said in a news release. The employee was collecting mail from the boxes in the drive-thru lane when two men wearing hooded sweatshirts pulled up in a black Mercedes-Benz and grabbed tubs of mail from the employee’s cart.
“When the victim tried to intervene, one of the suspects put his hands into the pockets of his hoodie, indicating that he had a gun. No firearm was seen,” the release said.
The men loaded the mail into the car and drove west on Redlands Boulevard. They had not been arrested as of Friday.
