LEWISTON, Maine — A 29-year-old man from Mexico, Maine was arrested and charged after he allegedly made threats against a Lewiston Post Office employee, Tuesday morning.
Police responded to the Lewiston Post Office located at 49 Ash St. for a man who was making threats toward an employee, a news release from the Lewiston Police Office said. Upon arrival, witnesses reportedly told officers “a male in the parking lot [was] making comments about harming a postal employee.”
Police said 29-year-old Dillion Lavallee of Mexico, Maine was identified as the suspect. Lavallee was found in Portland and arrested and charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon. Police said two firearms were found in Lavallee’s vehicle during a search. He is reportedly being held at the Androscoggin County Jail on $2,000 cash bail.
“Lavallee was not an employee of the Post Office but was known to several staff members,” police said.
The Lewiston Post Office went into lockdown for much of the day due to the incident.
