Pickup truck collides with USPS mail truck

CADDO PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — A United States Postal Service mail truck was involved in a major crash Thursday afternoon.

According to a press release from the Caddo Fire Department, just before 4:30 PM, emergency units from Caddo Fire District 6, Caddo Fire District 4, and the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a collision at the intersection of Fountainbleau Rd and Mansfield Rd.

Officials say the incident involved two vehicles: a large pickup truck traveling southbound on Mansfield and a USPS Mail Truck crossing from Fountainbleau to the northbound side of Mansfield Road.

During the collision, the pickup truck struck the mail truck, causing it to roll at least once before coming to rest upright at the side of the road. Fortunately, both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.

The driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital. Officials say the cause of the crash is currently being investigated by the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office.
