“Customers will see no changes to their local post office retail operations,” Najduch said. “No post offices will be closed and P.O. Box service will not be changed.
The change at the three offices comes to back-of-store operations. Mail carriers will no longer pick up mail for delivery from the retail locations. Instead, they will commute to a Sorting and Delivery Center — which will be established in the existing facility on Ninth Street in Oshtemo Township — to pick up mail they need to deliver before the start of each shift.
Drivers will pick up the mail, drive back to their communities and deliver it and return the USPS truck to Ninth Street.
