MAHOPAC- A mail truck operated by the Mahopac Post Office went up in flames Saturday following what was believed to be an engine malfunction.
The driver of the vehicle called 9-1-1 and escaped from the vehicle unscathed and Mahopac FD personnel were summoned to Fairmont Road.
Crews extinguished the inferno in about half an hour and no injuries were reported.
Authorities did not say if any mail was destroyed or damaged by the fire.
