PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — People in a Portland neighborhood are remembering a beloved postal worker who was stabbed to death.
People who knew Tristan Thomas said he was a different kind of mailman.
“He had an aura that just spelled out nothing but goodness. And I miss him extremely well,” said Jody Cagle, general manager of Automotive Outfitters.
Thomas was not on the job when someone stabbed him last month.
“[The] Lent’s neighborhood is our family. And he is kind of like, almost like a godfather in the neighborhood,” Cagle added.
Automotive Outfitters on Southeast Foster Road was part of Thomas’s delivery route.
The business has been here for 25 years and workers said they have seen mail carriers come and go, but Thomas was different.
