MASSILLON – A regional U.S. Post Office worker left the Louis Vuitton purse but stole the cash, according to federal investigators.
The theft suspect, West Area Post Office Operation Manager Bruce C. Murdock Jr., was arrested Monday after a federal complaint was unsealed in U.S. District Court in Akron.
Murdock is charged stealing items from the mail while he worked at the Erie Street S postal branch, according to court records filed in his case.
The agency began surveillance at the Massillon Post Office, where Murdock is accused of entering the mailroom and removing two larger Express Mail parcels and two Express Mail flat-rate envelopes, which included the designated items.
