Judge allows postal worker’s retaliation suit to go forward due to internal emails ridiculing him

The U.S. Postal Service managed to sink the bulk of a former worker’s disability bias suit, but a Wisconsin federal judge said emails between his supervisors ridiculing his depression and anxiety meant his retaliation claim could move ahead.

U.S. District Judge Brett H. Ludwig issued a decision and order Friday on Daniel Schneider’s and the USPS’s competing motions for summary judgment, knocking out allegations that the postal service violated the Rehabilitation Act by discriminating against him and forcing him into early retirement.

But Judge Ludwig refused to toss Schneider’s retaliation claim, citing an “avalanche of emails” that came out.
