Georgia mail truck fire

A post office carrier was unharmed after her mail truck, or Long Life Vehicle, caught fire while completing her route Saturday.

Witnesses saw the truck in flames on the side of the road near the intersection of Roscoe Road and the Hwy 34 bypass.

Thanks to the assistance of several good Samaritans, all the mail was removed from the truck without being damaged. The mail was then loaded into another vehicle and delivered the same day.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, and the truck will be transported to the Atlanta Post Office headquarters for further investigation.
