The U.S. Postal Inspection Service partnered with Evanston Police Investigative Services. This cooperative investigation led to identifying a suspect vehicle.
On Sept. 28, at approximately 2:30 p.m. investigators located and stopped the suspect vehicle in the 900 block of Ridge Avenue. Investigators made contact with the driver, Everett Pullett, who police said matched the description of the robbery offender and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Pullett, a 32-year-old Evanston man, was taken into custody and investigators continued their investigation. The investigation included the execution of a search warrant at Pullett’s residence. During the execution of the search warrant investigators recovered a Glock 36 handgun and what police said were proceeds from the robberies and clothing worn during the robberies.
The investigation was reviewed by the Cook County State’s Attorneys Office. The State’s Attorneys Office approved felony charges for two counts of Armed Robbery and one count of Unlawful Use of a Weapon by Felon. Pullett, who was also charged with traffic-related offenses, is scheduled to appear in bond court today in Skokie.
