COLORADO CITY, Colo. (KRDO)– Colorado City is without a post office again. According to Colorado City officials, an agreement between a contracted employee and the United States Postal Service(USPS) ended about two weeks ago. This caused the city’s post office to close. Since then, residents have had to drive to Pueblo’s north side post office to pick up their mail.
The Senior Resource Development Agency (SRDA) offers free bus rides to the Pueblo post office. It’s nearly 50 miles roundtrip from Colorado City to the Pueblo post office, but SRDA is hoping more people will take advantage of the resource.
“We’re there for you. We can hold ten passengers, so please come and use it. It’s a good service for the community. [It] saves you from driving in,” said Richard Erickson, an SRDA Bus Driver.
The agency offers a free ride every Saturday at 5000 Cuerno Verde Co City 81019 at 10 A.M.
SRDA also told KRDO that residents could make an appointment to get a free bus ride to the post office during the week.
