GREENWICH — Local police and the Office of the Inspector General for the United States Postal Service are investigating the attempted robbery of postal worker.
The robbery attempt occurred about 3:30 p.m. last Thursday on a residential street in the central part of town, Greenwich Police Lt. Martin O’Reilly said.
The suspects were targeting postal workers in a attempt to steal the key that opens mail boxes, O’Reilly said.
The postal worker was not injured during the robbery attempt and did not see a weapon, he said.
O’Reilly declined to provide information on whether the suspects were able to get the key from the postal worker due to the ongoing investigation.
