EASTERN ADAIR COUNTY, Mo. — An investigation is underway after several Amazon packages were apparently dumped off a bridge into a northeast Missouri river.
Adair County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Stivers told KTVO that Knox County Sheriff Carl Knoche retrieved about 20 unopened boxes from the water.
The waterway is believed to be a fork of Salt River.
Stivers said a delivery supervisor from the U.S. Postal Service took possession of the packages.
The deputy said the investigation will be handled primarily by the postal service, with the sheriff’s office providing assistance.
It’s unclear at this time who dumped the packages or how that person obtained them.
