USPS mail truck hit by gunfire in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – The Birmingham Police Department says a United States Postal Service mail truck was hit by gunfire Monday.

The incident happened in the 4200 block of 40th Court North.

According to USPS officials, shots hit the glass of the vehicle, but the postal worker was not injured. The carrier was taken to an area hospital to make sure they weren’t hit by glass fragments.

No one is in custody and no suspect has been identified.
