LOWELL, Mass. —
The United States Postal Inspection Service and Lowell Police Department are investigating the assault of a U.S. Postal Service letter carrier in Massachusetts.
A USPS public information officer confirmed to NewsCenter 5 that the USPS employee was delivering mail Tuesday on their route in Lowell when they were assaulted by a suspect during a nor’easter that ultimately brought 6 inches of snow to the city.
The letter carrier was treated and released for minor injuries, according to the USPIS official.
No further details about the assault were provided, including a description of the suspect.
