Los Angeles – Today, the Postal Service recognized the achievements and retirement of Maintenance Supervisor, Willie Campbell after 68 years of dedicated government service.

A luncheon celebration occurred at the USPS Los Angeles District Office to share memories of his career and spend one last moment with his fellow coworkers; Campbell’s official last day of service will be May 5, 2023.

“Love your job, be dependable and do your best work,” said Campbell as a bit of advice to current and future employees; a testament he attributes to his longevity in the Postal Service.

Prior to entering the Postal Service as a custodian in August 1957, Campbell served three years in the military. “Before coming to the Postal Service, I didn’t know what I wanted to do but I knew I needed to work somewhere,” says Campbell, “The post office was a good enough place for me.”

During his career, Campbell has been a mentor and motivator to his fellow employees. “I love my job and I am going to miss the collaboration I have with the employees; I am going to miss the employees most of all.”

In his retirement he looks forward to spending time with his three children and seven grandchildren, in Carson, CA.
