US Postal Worker Keys Ripped From his Belt While on the Job

Red Bank, NJ: A Red Bank post office mail courier’s keys were ripped from his belt last Friday, December 23, at approximately 4:20pm by a male perpetrator.

The postal worker was not identified.

Capt. Michael Frazee said in a written statement, “RBPD Officer Andrew Todd spoke with the victim and learned that as the courier approached a nearby mailbox, he became engaged in a brief conversation with a male subject that was standing nearby.

Within a short period of time, the unknown male grabbed a set of keys that were hanging from the mail couriers’ belt and fled the area on foot north on Prospect Avenue.

As the accused was fleeing the area, he entered a red, 4 door vehicle that pulled up alongside him. The vehicle and accused was last seen driving north on Prospect Avenue towards River Road.”

Description of Accused: Possibly a white male, wearing a surgical mask and wearing a red jacket or hooded sweatshirt.

Description of Vehicle:  Older model 4 door, unknown male or model.

The incident is being investigated by the Red Bank Detective Bureau along with the United States Postal Police.
