Silver Spring Mail Truck Driver Honored with Top Postal Award

Silver Spring mail truck driver Carter Scott has been honored with the Driver of the Year award from the U.S. Postal Service and the National Safety Council.

The Postal Service announced Scott’s accomplishment to 4,000 attendees at the National Postal Forum, the mailing industry’s largest annual conference, held in Indianapolis last April.

Scott could not attend the conference, so the recently retired Chief Logistics Officer Kelly Abney accepted the award on his behalf.

A local celebration was held at the USPS Suburban Maryland Processing and Distribution Center in Gaithersburg last June.
