WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Rick Scott spoke on the Senate floor on how Congress shouldn’t squander the opportunity to reform the U.S. Postal Service by rushing passage of H.R. 3076, the Postal Service Reform Act of 2022, which does nothing to secure the future of postal workers and Medicare recipients or make the Postal Service more efficient. Senator Scott is calling for full committee consideration of the legislation to improve and deliver a bill that truly works for the American people, protects Medicare solvency and provides a positive return on taxpayer dollars.
Senator Scott also sent a letter to Congressional Budget Office (CBO) Director Phillip Swagel requesting an immediate response with information on the long-term budgetary effects of H.R. 3076, the Postal Service Reform Act of 2022, and any negative fiscal impacts the legislation may have on the Medicare program.
