The United States Postal Service announced it is temporarily suspending operations at the Bluff Park Finance Station in Birmingham due to a safety issue concerning some structural issues in need of repair.
“In an abundance of caution, the U.S. Postal Service temporarily has suspended operations at the Bluff Park Finance Station, 762 Shades Mountain Plaza in Birmingham, due to a safety concern,” USPS Strategic Communications Specialist Debra Jean Fetterly said in a statement Wednesday. “Postal officials are working to resolve this safety issue and will be providing an update to customers once a thorough assessment has been completed.”
Customers will be able to conduct retail transactions at the Hoover Post Office at 1809 Riverchase Drive. Customers with proper identification will also be allowed to pick up their mail at the retail counter in Hoover. However, USPS said local mail delivery will not be impacted by this temporary suspension.
