Syracuse, N.Y. — A postal worker pleaded guilty Friday in federal court in Syracuse to bringing three guns to the DeWitt post office on Kinne Road.
Bria K. Maraia pleaded guilty to three counts of possession of a firearm on U.S. Postal Service property, according to court filings. She also was sentenced in the same proceeding.
The charges are petty offenses under federal law. Each count is punishable by up to 30 days in jail and a fine of up to $5,000.
Maraia was ordered to pay $5,000 for all three charges and was given no jail time by Magistrate Judge Therese Wiley Dancks, according to court records.
