Postal truck goes up in flames in east Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Channel 8 has now confirmed a United States Postal Service (USPS) truck going up in flames here in Lincoln.

It happened this afternoon east of 56th and Randolph Streets.

Investigators said the cause of the fire was a battery cable that shorted out.

They were able to get most of the mail out, but some did burn.

Those who had mail still left on the route will be notified by the post office.

No reports of any injures at this time.
