The Postal Service wants to remind employees about the Commuter Benefits Program, which allows them to pay for qualified commuting costs using pretax money.
Any career USPS employee is eligible for this benefit. There is no fee to join or cancel. There is no open enrollment period; employees can enroll or make changes at any time throughout the year.
Employees who have temporarily suspended their commuter benefits and would like to resume them are reminded to make their elections by 11:59 p.m. ET on the 27th of the month two months prior to the month the benefit starts.
For example, to make an election for May, any changes must be made by 11:59 p.m. ET on March 27.
Go to the Commuter Benefits Program LiteBlue page for more information or email the Health and Wellness Team with questions.
