Law360 (September 28, 2022, 7:22 PM EDT) — A former postal carrier was so upset that he could barely tell a Pennsylvania federal judge Wednesday about his 2016 firing after he fell and injured his knee, but an attorney for the United States Postal Service pressed him on whether his injury had left him unable to return even if he wanted to.
The Pittsburgh office of the USPS had admitted it was liable for wrongfully terminating Justin T. Holland when he fell while working his route in April 2016, although during a bench trial to determine damages and any equitable relief, counsel for the post office questioned whether Holland would have been able to return to work after his fall or would have racked up overtime.
