KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Kansas City, Kansas police are investigating after a one-year-old boy was hit by a postal delivery van.
Investigators claim that the driver of that van is cooperating after the 18-month-old toddler ran into the street, the USPS van hitting the child and leaving them badly injured.
Investigators also say that they don’t believe the driver was impaired or speeding.
The reeling community is hopeful that the child will pull through.
“I pray that baby makes it out safely, comes back healthy,” said a neighbor Johnny Hawkins.
According to KCK police, the incident happened Monday, Sept. 23, around 4:30 p.m. A 911 call came from the area of 70th Street around College Park Townhomes regarding a child hit by a vehicle.
