According to Steve Tracey, the executive director for supply chain research at Penn State, this could leave millions of packages undelivered.

Even non-UPS packages could be affected.

“Between Amazon, the U.S. Postal Service and FedEx, they’re not going to be able to absorb 14.9 million parcels a day. That’s just not feasible. So, what’s going to happen? Well, things aren’t going to get delivered. Things are going to get delayed. And it’ll eventually cause a backup in the entire small package ground system,” Tracey said.
