WASHINGTON, D. C. – The children of Temple Emanu El Preschool in Orange Village are practicing their Hanukkah tunes to perform them at an Oct. 20 ceremony their synagogue will host to officially dedicate the U.S. Postal Service’s 2022 Hanukkah postage stamps.

USPS spokesman Jonathan Castillo said his agency is continuously looking for partners around the nation to host “First-Day-of-Issue” ceremonies when new stamps are released. He said the ceremony will consist of the dedication and unveiling of the new stamp, as well as sales of the stamps, special cancellations, and autographs by the artist who designed the stamp, Jeanette Kuvin Oren, a Connecticut resident who will be on hand for the ceremony.

“When researching where to release the stamp, it became clear that Temple Emanu El was a vibrant congregation that could fulfill the Postal Service’s needs,” said Castillo. “When approached with the proposition to host the dedication ceremony, Temple Emanu El enthusiastically agreed.”
