New Bedford USPS Mail Carrier Delivers Dedication and Kindness Throughout His Route

In a world where many interactions feel fleeting and impersonal, there are still a few who go above and beyond to make a difference in their community.

For New Bedford residents along Adam Baptista Jr.’s USPS route, he’s much more than just a mail carrier. Baptista, who has been working for the United States Postal Service since January 2015, has made it his mission to ensure that each delivery comes with an extra dose of care.

Recently, an Amazon delivery to my home didn’t go as planned. Despite clear instructions to leave the package in the backyard, the delivery driver left it on the front porch, risking theft. Fortunately, Baptista stepped in to save the day. Noticing the vulnerable package, he took it upon himself to move it to the backyard, where it would be safer. He even left a message on my Ring doorbell to let my wife and I know that he took care of it for us. It’s small acts of kindness like this that set Baptista apart.
