Background:

On Friday, February 28th, in her 42nd year as a postal employee, Cathy Holland will be honored with her 40-year federal service pin.

Holland began her postal career in Placerville, CA as a rural letter carrier. She began her management career in 1999 in Sutter Creek, CA. She also served in Plymouth, CA and Volcano, CA before her promotion to Mokelumne Postmaster in 2012.

“It gives me a sense of pride to serve this small yet mighty community,” Holland said. “To me, being Postmaster means making sure all my employees are safe while providing the most efficient and reliable service to our customers. The Postal Service is continually innovating to provide first-class service which can be seen in the PMG’s Delivering for America 10-Year Plan,” she said.

Holland has one son, Kellen,14. Her parents are Ken, a retired postmaster and Jody Gibson. She resides just outside of Plymouth, CA.

In her spare time, she likes to garden and spend time with her family. She has volunteered for several community projects such as Bells Across America for Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) as well as serving as the Treasurer for the chapter.

As Postmaster, Holland oversees over 2,500 pieces of mail delivered daily while also servicing over 400 Post Office Box deliveries. She manages three people and two rural postal routes with a population of over 800
