As part of the United States Postal Service’s “For the Long Haul” initiative, USPS is honoring Greg Sherrod, a longtime USPS worker and former Avalanche-Journal mail clerk, for his service.
USPS officials described Sherrod as a dedicated mail processing clerk who has faithfully served the Postal Service and the Lubbock community for over 25 years at the same Post Office.
“Greg’s unwavering commitment and exceptional service have made him a beloved figure in the community,” reads a statement from USPS.
“For the Long Haul” is an initiative designed to honor the remarkable dedication of long-serving USPS employees like Sherrod, who have become integral parts of their communities through their unwavering commitment and service excellence, according to USPS. Over the years, he has developed lasting relationships with his customers, going above and beyond to ensure their mail is handled with care and reliability.
Sherrod began his career with USPS in 1974, first as a postal assistant at the Lubbock General Mail Facility to his current position as a mail processing clerk at the Freedom Station.
